An eco-friendly car that uses a mix of water and chemicals that costs just under 2p a litre to produce
A car mechanic from India says that he has designed and invented an astonishing car that runs on water.
Mohammad Raees Markani, 44, is the guy that modified an 800 cc engine over the last five years. Now he has reach to the point where he believes that he has made the scientific breakthrough.
This eco-friendly car uses a mix of water and carbides. Just one litre of the mix of this concoction costs under two pence. Which makes it more cost effective than traditional fuels. “The car runs on acetylene gas, which is formed from a chemical reaction between calcium carbide and water.” said Markani. Markani is from the sata of Madhya Pradesh, India. “This gas is already used for several industrial purposes including welding and portable lighting for miners. But in my case, I am using it to propel the car engines” he added.
“I have made other changes to the engines, which helps the overall performance of the car. So basically, it is just about the water.”
Mohammad Raees Markani has been a car mechanic for over 15 years now. He cannot neither read nor write and never went to school. This means that his invention has been hailed as a great leap in Indian society. That is something that made him a local celebrity. “This idea struck my mind while I was gas welding a part of my car in my workshop many years ago. But I did not know how to go about it,” Markani said.
“Somehow, I made a start and it took five years to make this efficient engine.”
Markani has been approached by different automobile companies from China and Dubai which he declined. Now he has a patent for his water car and has been invited by Chinese automobile companies to to develop the idea further. “The market for environmentally friendly cars is getting bigger and automobile companies around the world are looking for eco-friendly ways to reduce pollution. So a car like mine can be a good alternative. It costs close to nothing to operate and it is environment friendly.”
Every company interested in his amazing eco-friendly car project will have to meet his one condition – any plant to make new cars will be established only in his hometown in Madhya Pradesh. “I want things to change in my hometown. So this is where my work should continue.” said Markani.
That’s not all, he has also modified his car by inventing a system to control his car through his mobile phone. That sure sounds like science fiction but it’s not.
